This Privacy Policy explains how Bukki, Inc. (“Bukki”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our expense and financial-management service. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and applicable regulations.

Information we collect

• Account details, your name, email address, password, and workspace information you provide at sign-up.
• Financial data, when you connect a bank or fintech account, our open-banking partner (Mono) shares account balances, transactions, and account metadata so we can aggregate them into your ledger.
• Usage data, device, browser, and interaction data we use to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use your information

• To provide the service: aggregating accounts, categorising transactions, and generating reports.
• To classify spending as business or personal on your behalf.
• To power AI features, such as suggesting categories, reading uploaded statements, and answering questions about your books through the AI Accountant.
• To secure your account, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
• To communicate service updates and respond to support requests.

Bank connections

Bukki connects to your accounts through Mono, a licensed open-banking provider. We never see or store your online-banking login credentials, those are handled by Mono’s secure connection flow. You can disconnect any linked account at any time from your dashboard, which revokes our ongoing access.

Artificial intelligence

Bukki uses artificial intelligence to categorise transactions, read uploaded statements, and power the AI Accountant. To provide these features we send the relevant workspace data, such as transaction details and the figures needed to answer your request, to our AI processing provider, which processes it on our behalf solely to return the result to you and not to advertise to you. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate: it is a starting point for your review, not financial, tax, or legal advice, and anything it prepares (such as an invoice or expense) is saved as a draft for you to check before you act on it. AI features are available to Pro workspaces and can be avoided by not using them.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate Bukki(such as hosting, open-banking, and AI processing partners), and only to the extent needed to deliver the service or as required by law.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a workspace, the associated financial records, transactions, and bank connections are removed. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
