Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Bukki. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you use Bukki for an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.
Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You may only create or join a workspace, connect an account, invite a member, or submit information when you have authority to do so. Accountants and other advisers must have their client’s permission before accessing or managing client data.
The service and our role
Bukki provides software for connected financial data, bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses, inventory, approvals, reporting, tax-related records, accountant workflows, and AI-assisted tasks. Features vary by plan and may change as we improve the service. Bukki is not a bank, payment institution, accounting firm, tax adviser, auditor, or law firm, and does not hold or move your money.
Accounts, workspaces, and permissions
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You must be authorised to connect any financial account you link to Bukki.
- Workspace owners and administrators control invitations, roles, access, and the records created by members.
- You must promptly remove access when a member or adviser is no longer authorised.
Your data and responsibilities
You retain ownership of the content and records you submit. You grant us a limited right to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of your records; reviewing classifications and drafts; maintaining appropriate source documents; and making required accounting, payroll, tax, and regulatory filings on time.
Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help another person to:
- Access data or accounts you are not authorised to access.
- Upload unlawful, infringing, malicious, deceptive, or privacy-violating content.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or bypass the security or usage limits of the service, except where law expressly permits.
- Use Bukki for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or any other unlawful purpose.
- Resell or provide the service to third parties except through an authorised accountant or partner workflow.
Trials, subscriptions, and billing
Trials provide temporary access to eligible features. A trial does not become a paid subscription unless you actively subscribe and authorize payment. When a trial ends without a subscription, access may be reduced to the free plan and some features may become unavailable. Paid plans are billed in advance through Paystack at the price and interval shown at checkout. Accountant firm plans may be based on the number of covered client workspaces or seats.
By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges using the payment authorization you provide until the subscription is cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals and generally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the service states otherwise. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated. We may change fees with reasonable advance notice before a future renewal. You are responsible for applicable taxes and for keeping billing information current.
Banking and third-party services
Bank connections, payments, email delivery, AI processing, and other functions may depend on third parties such as Mono and Paystack. Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy notices. We do not control third-party availability, delays, or the accuracy and completeness of data they provide. You remain responsible for reconciling imported data against source records and for retrying or correcting failed actions.
AI-assisted features
Bukki includes AI-assisted categorisation, statement reading, and chat features. Automated models can produce output that is incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. AI output is provided for convenience and is not accounting, tax, investment, or legal advice. Records prepared by AI are ordinarily created as drafts or suggestions that you must review. You are responsible for verifying and approving anything before it is sent, posted, filed, or relied upon. Relevant workspace data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
Bukki, its software, branding, interfaces, documentation, and underlying technology are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account remains in good standing. They do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Bukki available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, third-party failures, network conditions, or security events may cause delays or outages. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue a feature and will provide reasonable notice where a material change adversely affects an active paid subscription.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Reports, tax calculations, AI outputs, bank feeds, and suggested entries depend on the data supplied and may contain errors or omissions. You must obtain professional advice where your circumstances require it and verify records before relying on, filing, approving, or sending them.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bukki is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or data arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to a paid service will not exceed the fees you paid for that service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Suspension, cancellation, and termination
You may stop using Bukki, cancel a subscription, or delete a workspace through the available account controls. Export any records you need before deletion. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the service. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before starting formal proceedings, you and Bukki agree to try in good faith to resolve a dispute by contacting the other party. We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service or law. We will post the revised Terms and provide additional notice where a material change affects an active subscription. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
